Reglas para el concurso de recitado / Rules for the Speech Competition
1. Aunque se recomienda aprender los textos de memoria, es permitido que los alumnos lleven el texto al escenario (guardado fuera de vista en un bolsillo) si por acaso les fallen la memoria. Sin embargo, si un alumno saca el texto durante la actuación recibirá una nota máxima de seis sobre diez de cada juez.
2. Los alumnos tienen que pertenecer a la edad correspondiente de su categoría (en el caso de la categoría 'junior' en los años 7, 8 o 9, y en la categoría 'senior' en los años 10,11,12 o 13).
3. Los alumnos que representan los colegios no deben ser hablantes nativos del español. Un hablante nativo se defina aquí como alguien que tiene un padre, una madre o los dos que son hablantes nativos del español o un alumno que ha vivido en un país hispanohablante para dos años o más dentro de los últimos ocho años. Se reconoce que de vez en cuando hay algunos alumnos que no hablan bien el español y formarían parte de esta categoría pero hay que definirlo de alguna manera. Los alumnos nativos pueden ser incluidos en el concurso como entrenadores de los alumnos que van a competir.
4. Si los alumnos quieren mostrar utilerías (cosas que ellos pueden llevar en las manos) para ilustrar sus palabras, esto se permite, pero no se debe escribir el texto en dichos artículos.
5. El movimiento y los gestos son permitidos, pero no se permite pasar demasiado tiempo bailando o moviéndose sin recitar con el fin de alargar la actuación.
6. No se debe escribir el texto en las manos, los brazos o cualquier parte del cuerpo.
7. Se puede reemplazar un estudiante con otro estudiante en el caso de enfermedad o no poder asistir al evento, siempre que no sea hablante nativo.
8. Cuando participan 4 colegios o más se permite un alumno por grado por colegio. Si participan 3 colegios o menos se permite dos alumnos por grado.
9. Cada grupo en la categoría grupal debe tener entre 3 y 15 participantes.
10. La categoría de parejas supone 2 personas en la pareja.
11. El trofeo se guarda para un año en el colegio ganador, luego se entrega al próximo colegio ganador.
12. Los miembros del jurado deben ser imparciales y juzgar cada participación por su mérito y no demostrar favoritismo.

1. Although it is recommended to memorise the texts, students are allowed to take the text on stage (to be kept out of sight in a pocket) in case they forget their lines. However, if a student uses the text during their performance they will receive a maximum mark of 6 out of 10 from each judge.
2. The students must belong to the corresponding year at school for the grade they are competing in. In the junior category students must be in Year 7, 8 or 9. In the senior category students must be in Year 10, 11, 12 or 13.
3. The students representing the schools should NOT be Spanish native speakers. A native speaker (for the purposes of this competition) is someone who has a mother, a father, or both who are native Spanish speakers, or be a student that has lived in a Spanish-speaking country for two years or more in the last eight years. We recognise that sometimes there will be students who fall into this category who do not speak Spanish well, but it is necessary to define native speaker in some way. Students who fall into the category of native speaker can become involved by coaching the competitors for the competition.
4. If the competitors wish to show props (anything that can be carried by hand by the student in question) to illustrate their words, this is allowed, but writing the text on said props is not allowed.
5. Movement and gestures are allowed (in fact encouraged), but competitors are not allowed to dance or move around too much without reciting the text in order to lengthen their performance.
6. Competitors must not write the text on their hands, arms or any part of their body.
7. It is permitted to replace a competitor with another competitor in case of illness or absence, as long as the replacing student is not a native speaker.
8. When 4 or more schools take part in the competition there will be 1 student per grade, per school. If 3 or less schools take part in the competition up to 2 students per grade, per school are allowed to take part.
9. Each group in the group category should have between 3 - 15 members.
10. The pair category is for two people.
11. The trophy is kept in the winning school for a year, then it is passed on to the next winner.
12. The members of the jury should be impartial and judge each participant on merit and not show favouritism towards one particular school.

Reglas para el concurso de canciones / Rules for the Song Competition
1. Se permiten entre 1 y 6 personas en el escenario.
2. Por lo menos uno de los participantes debe cantar en español.
3. Se puede elegir cualquier canción que tenga una letra en español de cualquier estilo musical.
4. Se permite pista de acompañamiento (archivo mp3 o enlace a un video de Youtube) o instrumentos en vivo, siempre que no haya más que 6 personas en el escenario en total. Habrá teclado/piano en la sala de actuaciones, los demás instrumentos tendrán que aportar los alumnos.

Reglas para el concurso de cocina / Rules for the Cooking Competition
1. Se permiten entre 1 y 3 personas en el escenario.
2. Este individuo o grupo en el escenario habrá preparado con anterioridad un plato o una bebida que traerán a una mesa para los jueces probar. Los alumnos deben traer los utensilios necesarios.
3. El concursante / los concursantes deben describir el plato en español en un discurso de entre 1 y 2 minutos. Conviene mencionar de donde es el plato, los ingredientes, como lo hicieron etc.
4. Los concursantes deben mandar una foto de su plato al colegio anfitrión por lo menos una semana antes del concurso. Obviamente esto requiere hacer el plato por lo menos dos veces, la primera vez para la foto y la segunda vez para el concurso.

3. The competitor(s) should describe the dish in Spanish in a 1-2 minute speech. It would be good to mention where the dish is from, the ingredients, how they made it, etc.
4. The competitors should send a photo of their dish to the host school at least a week before the competition. Obviously, this requires making the dish at least twice, the first time for the photo and the second time for the competition.
